Creating the perfect live soundtrack for your special event

Market Porters is a London-based trio, consisting of Mike Stephens on piano, Matthew Berwick on bass and Jane Berwick on vocals. 

The trio has taken songs in every style, shape and color, and has given them a unique jazz interpretation. Mike and Matthew have known each other for over 30 years, having played together in multiple world-class venues and on original recordings, including a latin jazz album, currently underway. Jane came on the scene in the last few years, after returning from a career in Asia and knew instantly that the three of them could create a live sound truly unique for their listeners. The pianist from the trio says is perfectly:

Together as a trio, they create a fresh take on anything from Ella Fitzgerald to Fleetwood Mac.  For the members, 'Jazz' means to have the freedom to combine and mix styles, melodies, sounds and rhythms to create something fresh and surprising, often leaving listeners on the edge of their seats to know what they will hear next. 

A specialty of Market Porters is to try and find unusual material - unusual in a jazz setting - and to arrange it in a different way. Give it a fresh voice and a new approach. They also take the music that everybody knows - pop tunes and jazz standards - and give people a chance to hear them in a new and exciting way. They push the envelope of traditional jazz music by adding to it its own sound and rhythm, a result of the music that has influenced the trio's members.
